The intent is to reward all work that deserves recognition. Hence, unlike other award shows, there is no hierarchical award structure - no Golds, no Silvers, no Bronze. The best work wins a Baby Elephant, and the very best work wins a Blue Elephant. Do note that there might be multiple winners in a particular discipline or category, or no winner in a discipline or category either.
-
All Awards by Kyoorius follow a comprehensive multiple-round judging process, where jurors base their decisions on three criteria, reviewing if the entry is –

- well-executed
- relevant to contextIn the categories relating to craft, work is judged first on the strength of the craft, then on how it contributes to the success of the idea.

How does the
Jury work?
The Kyoorius Design Awards follow a comprehensive multiple-round judging process, where jurors base their decisions on three criteria. In the categories relating to craft, work is judged first on the strength of the craft, then on how it contributes to the success of the idea. All decisions pertaining to judging and winning are solely the responsibility and onus of the jury.
Judging Criteria
All our Elephants have to adhere and fulfil all three criteria:
-
The idea is the foundation of a great piece of work. The judges will look at the strength of the idea in terms of its originality, in whatever shape or form it may be, as it’s subjective. But they’ll also ask questions such as “Has it generated a new perspective on an old problem? Has it added something new to the advertising industry, and the world, at large?”
-
The test of a great idea lies in its execution. Have you brought out the full potential of the idea? Does the craft raise the overall level the idea? And is it well produced for the mediums it’s meant for?
-
For any piece of work to be impactful, the context of the culture, the product, the environment and the time it’s been created in is extremely important. Is it resonating with the people it was made for? And is it fit for the purpose that it was intended?
The jury is looking for answers to the following questions:
Regarding the Idea / Concept / Principle:
What is the idea / concept / principle used to
solve for the brief?Where did it stem from?
Is it unique?
How does it intend to solve for the brief?
Regarding the Execution:
How was the idea / concept / principle executed?
Were there any challenges or constraints during execution?
Was there any advancement in the technology / methods used to execute the idea / concept / principle?
Regarding the Brief:
What is the purpose for the project to exist?
What problem is it looking to solve?
What was the need or objective for the campaign or work?
Regarding the Impact:
What did the project achieve?
What impact did it have on the stakeholders?
